Class Description
*  English 7 is focused on extending the students' knowledge of grammar and writing skills.

*  Some of the topics being covered in this class include:  sentence and paragraph formation, prewriting strategies, grammar, capitalization and punctuation rules, and proofreading.

Grading
*  Grades are based on three types of assignments:  class work (35% of the grade), homework (15% of the grade), and tests/quizzes (50% of the grade). 

*  A class participation grade is also averaged into the grades.  Every student begins each nine weeks with 100% for class participation.  They lose participation points for coming to class unprepared or misbehavior.  Class participation counts as one test grade each nine weeks.

*  Work is expected to be turned in on the due date given.  Extensions are given only for absences or school-related activities.
